Anna Freud Centre
Ashfold secured the role of Client Advisor through a competitive tender. In this role we acted as the interface between the project team and the client team, including review of the contractor procurement strategy, delivery programme, construction process and the handover and occupancy of the new building.
The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families is a children’s mental health charity that has been developing and delivering pioneering health care for over 60 years.
Having outgrown their existing facilities at Rodney Street near King’s Cross in North London, the Centre demolished the existing building on site and commissioned renowned education architects Penoyre & Prasad for the design of their new four storey building and refurbishment of an adjacent building. The new centre is home to the Kantor Centre for Excellence and Pears Family School for children who have been excluded from mainstream education.
The new facilities include flexible meeting rooms, a conference room, general and specialist classrooms and workspace, and a library. The architects worked with interior designer Ilse Crawford to create a welcoming and calm environment for students and their families.
Professor Peter Fonagy, Chief Executive of the Anna Freud Centre says the centre “gives parents, communities and practitioners the skills, knowledge and support to help children build their health and wellbeing, and the confidence to seek professional help when needed.”
